Position : Engineering Manager

We have a vacancy for an Engineering Manager. The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing, coordinating and controlling the logistics, maintenance and manufacturing departments in the Workshop; managing the coordination of the complete value chain within the plant and asset environment, and coordinating and controlling all transport for Master Drilling.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Forecasting, procuring and planning of asset and plant requirements
  • Identifying and taking on assets into the operational and ERP environments
  • Overseeing the operational storage, allocation, and distribution of assets
  • Overseeing the verifying and maintaining assets, depreciation, and disposal of assets, Workin Progress, Tool management,
  • Overseeing the Transport department and Mechanical Workshop
  • Managing subordinates and using Performance Management System to hold employees accountable for the delivery of agreed
    results
  • Ensuring adherence to ISO standards and that quality checks are carried out timeously and recorded
  • Drawing up a maintenance schedule for all machines in the workshop, and ensuring daily maintenance checks are carried out
  • Managing the database of supplier capabilities matched to product and service requirements
  • Communicating the correct engineering data requirements to suppliers
  • Record control of engineering data, purchase order, invoice, delivery note, job card, QC documentation, process certification
    etc associated with a delivered product or service
  • Submitting monthly and annual budgets
  • Presenting financial reports to MAN-COM
  • Ensuring compliance to OH&S Act, and conducting a weekly safety meeting

Qualifications and experience:

  • B-Eng Degree
  • Quality qualification and experience
  • Background in designing, manufacturing, hydraulics, and fault-finding
  • Ten (10) years experience in heavy industry (manufacturing or engineering environment)
  • Fluent in English
  • Previous experience in inventory, plant management, logistics, and workshop
  • Computer literate
  • Willingness to travel
